Our experience on American Cruise Line’s ship the American Song was a wonderful experience. The scenery of mountains, as well as seeing the Columbia and Snake Rivers was beautiful and at times breath-taking. We enjoyed waking up to sit out on our deck each morning to watch the sun rise as the world came alive. Each day, being lovers of history, we discussed, planned, and looked forward to our daily shore excursions, both planned and unplanned. The ship is powered by 2x Caterpillar marine engines running on low-sulfur diesel. These modern engines require less fuel and produce fewer emissions (COx, NOx, SOx) and soot particles in comparison to other boats on the US river cruising market.
American Song staterooms review, floor plans, photos
Nice big cabin with excellent storage, a small closet, balcony, small shower, good linens. American Cruise Lines uses fresh, local ingredients to show off the culinary glory of the region you’re cruising in. On the Mississippi River, that could mean Andouille Gumbo, a po’boy with red beans and rice, and bourbon pecan pie. In New England, you could find Littleneck clam ceviche on the menu followed by a spiced apple pudding with maple whipped cream.
